This document is about how students copE with their debts. In the report, we can see that nearly all the students of a class will owe money after they graduate, between $25,000 and $65,000.

Two students are interviewed.

The first one is aware that it will take him 20 years to reimburse / pay off his loan. But even though he owes a lot of money, he seems resigned as he considers debt as part of the game.

He remains hopeful and determined.

What really matters to him is the job he’ll do.

The second one finished her studies two years ago and she has started paying off. Depite her two jobs she is still unable to overcome her difficulties. She also seems resentful at the system for not helping the students who come from lower middle class or working class. She says that it is unfair. Indeed, students from lower income families are granted scholarships and wealthy students can afford the cost whereas students like her have huge debts.

Yet both students are aware that higher education is necessary if they want to have a good job. They are both determined and willing to do their best to complete their education despite the difficulties it may involve.

The document deals with the bad situation / plight of some students who cannot make ends meet to pay for their college tuition.

The first student who was interviewed doesn’t worry about his debt because he is still studying. He looks resigned. He remains hopeful and determined.

Whatever the cost, he is ready to pay for his degree.

The second interviewee has already graduated and now she is working. However, she can’t make ends meet, she is neck deep in debt / she has difficulties paying off. Although she has two jobs, she can’t pay off / reimburse her loan.
